Raiders (6-6) at Chiefs (6-6)

When: 10 a.m. TV/Radio: 5#z / 95.7, 98.5, 102.1 Spotlight on: S Reggie Nelson. Asked how to defend blazing-fast Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill, Raiders assistant coach John Pagano said: “Pray.” You’d think Pagano has more of a plan — and it would include not letting Hill blow the top off the Raiders’ defense like he did in Week 7. That responsibility falls on Nelson, the last line of defense, who can’t let Hill get open over the top for Alex Smith to throw deep. Injury notes: Raiders — G Jon Feliciano (concussion) is out. LB Cory James (knee) and DL Jihad Ward (foot) are doubtful. CB David Amerson (foot), DL Denico Autry (hand), WR Amari Cooper (ankle), FB Jamize Olawale (ankle) and WR Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) are questionable. Chiefs — C Mitch Morse (foot), S Eric Murray (ankle) and CB Marcus Peters (suspended) are out. LB Tamba Hali (knee) is questionable.

THE BIG 3

The Raiders did a good job of limiting Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in Week 7 (four catches, 33 yards), which is notable given Oakland’s struggles covering that position and the fact that Kelce leads all NFL tight ends in catches and receiving yards. Pagano must scheme some ways to slow Kelce other than letting him match up one-on-one against the Raiders’ linebackers.

Hill is also dangerous as a punt returner, with three returns for touchdowns in less than two NFL seasons, including a 78-yarder against the Raiders last year. The Raiders haven’t returned a punt for a touchdown since 2008 (or a kickoff for a score since 2011). They won’t want to put more pressure on the offense by allowing points on special teams.

The three turnovers the Raiders have forced in their past two games also came at key times, including NaVorro Bowman’s interception in the end zone and Khalil Mack’s strip-sack fumble recovery in the red zone. The Raiders excelled in forcing timely turnovers last season. Can they seize another on Sunday?
