Ferrari has a career night for USF

Frankie Ferrari came off the bench to score a career-high 19 points and Chase Foster hit four three-pointers and scored 17 points to power USF to a 74-61 win over UC Davis on Friday night.

Matt McCarthy added 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots for the host Dons (6-3), who were playing the Aggies (7-3) for the first time since 1976. Jordan Ratinho hit three threes and scored 12 points for USF.

Siler Schneider scored 19 points for UC Davis and Chima Moneke added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Moneke came into the game as one of just seven players across the nation averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds. UC Davis had its win streak snapped at four. Colorado 113, South Dakota State 103: Tyler Bey scored eight of his 12 points in the second overtime period, including all four of his free throws, and the host Buffaloes overcame a 37-point performanc­e by Mike Daum. McKinley Wright led Colorado (8-3) with 30 points. Daum also had 12 rebounds for the Jackrabbit­s (9-5). WOMEN USF 90, Sacramento State 76: Anna Seilund had 34 points and eight assists to lead the host Dons (4-5) over the Hornets. Michaela Rakova, Kalyn Simon and Ninni Salmi added 12 points each. Maranne Johnson scored 17 points for Sacramento State (2-7). No. 19 Texas A&M 75, USC 74: Freshman Chennedy Carter scored 46 points, a Texas A&M single-game record, to lead the Aggies (9-2) to a win over host USC. Carter made the game-winning jumper from the baseline with nine seconds left. The Trojans (8-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
