Roundup: San Jose State men beat Santa Clara.

Ryan Welage scored 21 points and Keith Fisher added 15 points and 13 rebounds as San Jose State, which held Santa Clara without a field goal for the first 12:43 of the game, defeated the Broncos 75-63 at Leavey Center on Thursday night.

The Spartans (3-8), who had lost five in a row, built a 19-4 lead before Santa Clara’s KJ Feagin drained a threepoint­er. The Broncos (3-9) had missed 16 fieldgoal attempts before that shot.

San Jose State, which led by 26 in the first half, was up 39-18 at halftime. Santa Clara eventually trimmed its deficit to 58-53 on a layup by Henry Caruso with 5:31 left in the game, but the Spartans then used a 9-1 run to regain control.

Feagin scored 24 points and Caruso 13 to lead Santa Clara. #2 Michigan State 102, Long Beach State 60: Miles Bridges had 17 points and nine rebounds as part of a balanced offense as the host Spartans (12-1) rolled over the 49ers (5-9). Gabe Levin had 14 points for Long Beach State. #8 Texas A&M 89, Buffalo 73: Duane Wilson scored 23 points and Savion Flagg added 21 as the host Aggies (11-1), playing without three suspended players, beat the Bulls (7-5). Junior guard D.J. Hogg, Texas A&M’s leading scorer at 14.6 points per game, was suspended for three games for a violation of university policy. In addition, freshman guards J.J. Caldwell and T.J. Starks missed the game because of violations of team rules. San Diego State 72, #12 Gonzaga 70: Trey Kell scored 10 of his 14 points in the final 2:56 and Jalen McDaniels scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half and had 10 rebounds as the host Aztecs (8-3) beat the Bulldogs (10-3). Zach Norvell Jr. led Gonzaga with 22 points. #16 Purdue 97, Tennessee State 48: Carsen Edwards scored 26 points and P.J. Thompson finished with 17 as the host Boilermake­rs (12-2) romped past the Tigers (5-6). #18 Arizona 73, UConn 58: Rawle Alkins scored 20 points and Dusan Ristic had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the host Wildcats (10-3) defeated the Huskies (7-4). Arizona guard Allonzo Trier scored 15 points after leaving in the second half of Monday’s game against North Dakota State with a sprained left knee. #20 Cincinnati 81, Cleveland State 62: Gary Clark scored 18 points as the Bearcats (11-2) beat the Vikings (3-8) to extend the nation’s longest home winning streak to 33 games. #24 Florida State 94, Southern Mississipp­i 45: P.J. McCoy scored 17 points to lead the host Seminoles (11-1), who made 19 three-pointers, past the Golden Eagles (7-5). Kent St. 79, Oregon St. 78: Jaylin Walker scored 25 points, including 19 in the second half, as the host Golden Flashes (6-6) beat the Beavers (8-4). Stephen Thompson Jr. and Tres Tinkle led Oregon State with 25 points each. Other WCC: Josh McSwiggan scored 18 points to lead five Portland players in double figures as the visiting Pilots (6-7) won 80-75 over Sacramento State (3-9) . ... Yoeli Childs scored 20 points as host BYU (10-2) prevailed 85-71 over Idaho State (4-6).
