Oregon flexes muscles again

Maite Cazorla scored 26 points, Sabrina Ionescu added 25, and No. 10 Oregon beat No. 19 Texas A&M 84-62 in the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas.

It was the second time the teams played in a little more than a month. The Ducks won 83-68 at Texas A&M on Nov. 16 in the semifinals of the Preseason Women’s NIT.

The Ducks (10-2) made 27 of 50 shots (54 percent), including 12 of 24 from three-point range.

“We were as good as we could’ve been, certainly offensivel­y,” Oregon head coach Kelly Graves said. “Defensivel­y, we had a little bit to be desired. But offensivel­y everything was clicking. We spaced the floor well, we made shots. We played well, but could even maybe do it a little bit better.”

Danni Williams led the Aggies (10-3) with 22 points. #4 South Carolina 87, Temple 60: A’ja Wilson had 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks to lead the Gamecocks (11-1), who led 46-20 at halftime, past the host Owls (8-4). #5 Mississipp­i State 76, Syracuse 65: At the Duel in the Desert, Victoria Vivians had 26 points to lead the Bulldogs (13-0) past the Orange (11-1). #9 West Virginia 66, Morehead State 56: Naomi Davenport scored 19 points and Teanna Muldrow had 18 points and 12 rebounds as the host Mountainee­rs (12-0) defeated the Eagles (9-4). Texas-Arlington 56, USF 54: Shelby Richards scored 16 points for the host Mavericks (6-5). Michaela Rakova led the Dons (5-6) with 12 points and eight rebounds. Grand Clara 38: Canyon Brie Mobley 39, Santa hit the go-ahead jumper with 4.1 seconds left and Jessica Gajewski blocked Ashlyn Herlihy’s shot at the end as the Lopes (5-8) slipped by the Broncos (4-7) in Phoenix. Morgan McGwire had eight points for Santa Clara. Other Ekmark lead four Pac-12: scored Arizona Courtney 23 State points players to in double figures as the host Sun Devils (9-3) won 89-43 over Arkansas (8-4) . ... Emily Potter had 13 rebounds and nine rebounds to lead host Utah (9-2) to a 71-50 win over Oral Roberts (8-5) . ... Sara Castro scored 18 points to lead five Colorado players in double figures as the host Buffaloes (9-2) won 106-47 over Westminste­r (5-6), a Division III school in Fulton, Mo.
