A man was fatally shot late Saturday outside a bar in Vallejo, an incident that left two other victims wounded, authorities said.

Officers responded to reports that three people were injured by gunfire about 11:43 p.m. outside Dunphy’s Tavern, at 401 York St., said Sgt. Fabio Rodriguez of the Vallejo Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found one man dead outside the tavern in a public parking lot. The identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Another man and a woman were found with gunshot wounds, police said.

Both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sunday morning, Diane Pollock, a bartender at Dunphy’s Tavern, said the two men who were shot are brothers and regular customers at the bar.

“I was just talking to them Friday night,” Pollock said, adding that the men have never caused problems. “I was very surprised.”

She said one man was killed in the parking lot of the Grocery Outlet across the street. The other was shot in the leg and ran to the bar to hide.

“And then an innocent bystander got shot,” Pollock added.

The owners of the bar stayed on the scene until 3:30 a.m. and provided police with surveillance footage, Pollock said.

The bartender on duty during the shooting was taken in for questioning, she added.

No arrests have been made, police said, and information on suspects was not immediately available.
