She was a homemaker who excelled at baking, and a gracious hostess, always happy to welcome friends to her home. Throughout her life she enjoyed an exceptionally close relationship with her sister, even though they spent their entire adult lives living on opposite sides of the country. Her sister died last March. Music always was a great source of solace and joy. She played the piano for 85 years and continued taking lessons until her final illness. She will be remembered as an avid reader, a prolific life history writer, an enthusiastic traveler, and loyal friend.
