The National announced that it has rescheduled a pair of concerts canceled last year due to the Wine Country fires to Sept. 24-25.

The band was forced to postpone two shows initially scheduled for Oct. 14-15 at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre when smoke that drifted south from massive fires in the North Bay made air quality too hazardous for outdoor events. The concerts were two of dozens of events canceled around the region during the time.

“The Greek is one of our favorite venues in the world and it was heartbreaking to have to postpone the shows in October due to the wildfires in Northern California,” the band’s guitaristkeyboardist, Aaron Dessner, said in a statement. “To all of you who had tickets to the original shows, thank you for your patience and we can’t wait to return to the Greek to play for you.”

At the time, the band and the venue offered refunds for those who purchased tickets, but fans who kept theirs will be able to use them at the rescheduled shows. As the Greek’s ticket page outlines, tickets for the Oct. 14 show may now be used for Sept. 24, and tickets for the Oct. 15 show can be presented for the Sept. 25 concert.

The venue will again be offering refunds to those who had tickets to the previous dates but can’t attend the rescheduled Monday and Tuesday concerts, according to concert promoter Another Planet Entertainment.

A batch of new general admission tickets for the concerts — $55 for Sept. 24 and $49.50 for Sept. 25 — are on sale via the Greek’s website, http://thegreekberkeley. com.
