Theresa Fitzpatrick

July 31, 1930 - January 1, 2018

Theresa Creed Fitzpatrick, 87, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 1st, 2018 surrounded by her four children.

She married the love of her life, Bart Fitzpatrick, in April 1955, and together they raised their four children in Daly City. She is survived by her sons, Dan (Barbara Wood) and Ed (Rita), and her daughters, Joanne (Peter Byrne), and Kathy (Tracy) Haley. She was a loving grandmother to Caitlin, Riley, Brenna, and Matthew Fitzpatrick, and Samantha and Tommy Haley.

Theresa was a proud native of San Francisco, born to Irish immigrant parents, Michael and Josephine Creed. She was a proud alumni of St. Monica’s and St. Vincent’s. She grew up in a very close-knit family and was the oldest of five children. She is survived by her sister, Marian FitzPatrick, her brother Mike Creed, and her sistersin-law, Kathy Creed and Lee Fitzpatrick. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Walker, her brother, Dan Creed and her brothers-in-law, Robert Walker, Mike FitzPatrick, Jack Towey, Terence and John Fitzpatrick and Jim Billings and her sisters-inlaw, Bess Towey, Peggy Billings and Peggy Fitzpatrick. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

After raising their family, she and Bart moved to Santa Rosa and enjoyed their retirement. They loved to go for long walks and long drives. It was not uncommon for them to take a drive out to the coast and enjoy an ice cream cone on the beach. The two of them also enjoyed traveling during their retirement. She was heartbroken after Bart’s death and moved to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 6th at St. Pius Catholic Church 1100 Woodside Rd. in Redwood City.
