Burton Joseph Pacioretty was born on June 4, 1921 in Long Beach, CA to Joseph and Dorothea Pacioretty. He passed away at Spring Lake Village on December 30, 2017 in Santa Rosa, CA.

Burton lived in San Francisco almost 70 years until his retirement when he moved to Santa Rosa. After attending college, Burton joined the FBI and subsequent­ly enlisted in the US Army during WWII. He was selected to be a special investigat­or and served as a CID officer in the Philippine­s.

After the war, Burton attended USF Law School. He became a much admired, top-rated attorney as well as a valued member of his community. Burton also generously gave of himself working tirelessly in numerous Catholic and other philanthro­pic organizati­ons.

Burton and Theresa, his wife of 67 years, raised seven children, Elaine Pacioretty, Joan Pacioretty, Raymond Pacioretty (Anette), Carol Wright, David Pacioretty (Janet), Linda Pacioretty Babish (John), Lisa Pacioretty; ten grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren. He is remembered as a loving father who was fully devoted to his family. In spite of his demanding schedule, Burton always made time to enjoy his wife and children.

Burton loved nature, animals, music, gardening and travel. He got great pleasure hiking with his family in his beloved Bay Area parks and recreation facilities. Burton and Theresa traveled extensivel­y throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service starting at 7:00 PM at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA. There will be a Funeral Mass on January 9, 2018 at 10:00 at St. Eugene’s Cathedral, 2323 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa, CA. Inurnment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennet Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA.

The family wishes to extend a very special Thank You to the medical staff at Spring Lake Village for their kind and profession­al care. Donations may be made in Burton’s name to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n or the charity of your choice.
