-

March 4, 1947 - December 25, 2017

Marijeanne Denise Sarraille, born March 4th, 1947, died after a long illness and as a result of complications from muscular dystrophy and pneumonia on December 25, 2017. Loving daughter of John and Jacquelyn Sarraille, loving sister of John (Lynn), Richard (Rebecca), Catie (Jerry) and Bill Sarraille. Loving mother of Alexander Royal Miller.

Marijeanne graduated from Holy Name Elementary School, attended Notre Dame des Victoires High School in San Francisco and graduated from Chico Senior High in 1965. She resided in the Haight Ashbury during the summer of 1967. She was a student at City College of San Francisco, Chico State, SF State and CSU Northridge, majoring in Geology.

Marijeanne worked as a claims adjustor at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and at Blue Shield of California. She worked in customer service at Providian.

Marijeanne was a founding member of the Yerba Buena Democratic Club. She was passionately interested in politics and in the history of the planet. She traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest to observe first-hand how nature shaped that part of the continent. Her favorite place on earth was Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite.

Marijeanne loved gardening. She transformed the landscapes of every place she lived in San Francisco from the foggy backyard on 39th Avenue to the steep hillside on Missouri Street. No yard? No problem. Every variety of house plant, including succulents, thrived under her care. She was a prodigious reader of an eclectic mixture of science fiction, history, pop fiction, poetry and the classics.

Marijeanne is survived by her son, Alexander Miller, her brothers, her sister and eleven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Sierra Club or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
