Age 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 4th, 2018, at his home in San Bruno, California. Italo was born May 25th, 1932, to Enrico and Giuseppina (Pirani) Baioni in Shaw, Mississipp­i. He was 1 of 7 children.

Italo is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ellen; daughter, Deborah; sons, Mark (Jill) and Sean (Dana); grandchild­ren, Vincent, Serena and Lily Baioni; sister, Angie Williamson. Italo is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Ned Baioni, Terso Baioni, Julius Baioni, Vienna Baioni Cataldo, Nellie Baioni Rios and grandson Matthew Gabriel Baioni.

Italo attended Galileo High School in San Francisco, CA, and was recently inducted to the Galileo Sports Hall of Fame (2017) for achieving Captain of the All-City High School Basketball team two years in a row.

In 1961 Italo began a long 40-year career in the sanitation industry; he was a partial owner of the original Sunset Scavengers (now Recology). Italo loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in bowling, playing poker, and the Catholic Church.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Liturgy Service at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive, Millbrae. Committal to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
