Gloria Ashbrook, at rest at the age of 96. Gloria was born on Oakwood Street in the Mission District of San Francisco to Rinaldo & Minnie Chiosso in 1921. It was there she met her true love, Donald (Ozzie) Ashbrook. They were married for 66 wonderful years until Ozzie’s passing in 2011. Adored mother of Gary Ashbrook and daughter-inlaw, Marilyn Ashbrook. She was a cherished grandma to Kimberly O’Brien (Kekoa) and Jason Ashbrook. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond & Louis Chiosso and sisters Dorothy Campi & Eleanor Fuller. Gloria loved to be around people, singing, dancing and playing Bingo. She was an active member of the Italian Catholic Federation Branch #258. Gloria worked until the age of 85 in sales. She spent the first half of her career selling bakery goods and the second half selling real estate. She excelled at both. Adored aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special appreciation to her niece, Frances Heidt for all her love and kindness. Many thanks for the wonderful care given to Gloria by the staff at Home Sweet Home and Heartland Hospice. Friends may visit on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018 at Saint Elizabeth’s Church, corners of Somerset & Wayland Streets, San Francisco. The Rosary & visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations in Gloria’s memory to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club in San Francisco or to a charity of your choice.
