The Quakes got Florida International defender Paul Marie at No. 12 and UNLV forward Danny Musovski at No. 30.

Olympics: Russia has been barred from next month’s Winter Games because of doping, but its representation could be as strong as ever. When it barred Russia, the International Olympic Committee left open a door for athletes who could prove they were clean. Friday, after a monthlong review process, the IOC provisionally cleared nearly 400 to compete. The decision on how many go will come next week. Russia sent 232 to the last games. Canadian anti-doping official Paul Melia called the move naive. “In the face of evidence of a state-run doping program going back to at least 2011, to think that overnight there’s a new generation of Russian athletes ready for the Olympics?” he said.

Baseball: The St. Louis Cardinals traded outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Toronto Blue Jays for right-handed reliever Dominic Leone and minor-league pitcher Conner Greene. Grichuk, 26, hit .238 last year with 22 home runs and 59 RBIs in 122 games. Leone, 26, was 3-0 with a 2.56 ERA in 65 games.

Arrest: New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson faces a slew of charges in Sunrise, Fla. Police say his SUV ran two red lights and was swerving at 105 mph and he threatened to rape an officer’s wife.
