Emilie Paula Rege passed away December 12, 2017 at the age of 99 in Forestville, CA. Emilie was born August 26, 1918 in San Francisco to Thorvald and Paula Selchau. Emilie was sister to Asta, Thor, and Paul. She was married to Eugene Rege who preceded her in death.

In her youth, Emilie enjoyed swimming, skating, and tennis, and continued to meet monthly with eleven of her school friends for seventy-three years. She attended Polytechnic High School, City College of San Francisco, and business college.

In 1942, she married Eugene Rege, and they established residence in San Francisco, where they raised their three children. Emilie and Eugene enjoyed traveling together, especially white water rafting on the Colorado River and trips to Mexico, Europe, and Hawaii. We have fond memories spending summers at the family cabin on the Russian River. Emilie was also an avid reader, a gifted writer, and enjoyed gardening. She attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa.

Emilie and Eugene were married for 57 years. Her family was the love of her life. She was a patient, kind, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a sparkling sense of humor and a sweet smile. Emilie was interested in others, and always had a listening ear.

She is survived by her children Russ (Pam), Dave (Deb), and Karen. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kirsten(Jeff), Jessica (Scott), Dawn (Michael), Nicole (Pono), Ryan (Ellen), Marty (Jessica), and Ross. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom, we love you and miss you.

A private service for the immediate family will be held per Emilie’s request.

Contributions may be made in Emilie’s memory to the American Heart Association.
