Judith Ann O’Healy Merrion

-

Judith O’Healy Merrion passed quickly and unexpectedly from this world on December 27, 2017, following a massive stroke. She was a native of San Francisco, born on March 1, 1945 to John Healy and Agnes Collins Healy. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School, and graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology.

Judy married Robert Sneed in 1968, and in 1975 they moved to “The Crossings” neighborhood in Concord to raise their sons: Jason, Damon and Daniel. Judy was a devoted mother to her three boys; sharing her love of nature, theater and travel, and enthusiastically exploring many languages and cultures with her family.

Judy’s career focused on human resource management, and she held positions with several Bay Area engineering firms including VZM, Jacobs, and Eichleay, where she met Lawrence Merrion, Architect, whom she married in 1999. The loving couple were inseparable for their 18-year marriage and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, participating in community events, and travelling the world.

Judy treasured her two grandchildren, Minna and Kelan Sneed. She and Lawrence often visited Portland, OR to attend their performances, sporting events, and birthdays. She also loved spending time with her family in California including her two sisters, Jerri Ceschi and Elaine Dengler, many nieces and nephews, and Lawrence’s four children and their families. Judy was a beloved sister, mother, wife, grandmother, godmother, and friend. Everyone who knew Judy understood that she was truly a unique person who made the world a better place with her beauty, grace, and warmth.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you honor Judy by sharing a meal with loved ones and raising a glass in her memory. Per her request, there will be no funeral service.
