Eugenia Yick Chin, beloved wife of the late Wallace Chin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by close family on December 24, 2017. Her husband, sister Honoria and brother Alvin Yick, Jr., as well as nephew Patrick Yick and nieces Jane Sue Fong and Joyce Ann Wong predeceased her. Her survivors include nephews Ronald Yick and Jordan Wong and many nieces and nephews from both the Chin and Yick sides of the family.

Jeanne, as she was known, was born in Stockton on October 26, 1926 to Yick Hing Gum and Hazel Chan. She grew up in San Francisco and graduated from Commerce High School, where she studied bookkeeping. For many decades she worked as the bookkeeper to J. Jacobs and Company in South San Francisco. On May 3, 1951 she married Wallace Chin at Wayfarer’s Chapel in Carmel-by-the Sea. The couple enjoyed many years fishing and traveling in their motor home with their dogs Baron, Spuddy, and Orso. She and Wally were avid mah jong players, a passion she continued after her husband’s death. On cruises with friends she would play mah jong and take in the sights. She had an infectious sense of humor and never turned down an opportunity to enjoy a meal out with friends and family. She regularly attended the Fellowship Bible Church in Belmont. Her many relatives on the Chin side and the Yick side will miss her fondly.

Private graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, 2710 Ralston Ave, Belmont, California, 94002.
