David H. Andrews

-

On January 7, at the age of 89, David passed away in Washington, DC.—his home for the last 6 years.

Born November 10, 1928, in Mt. Kisco, NY, David was the fifth and youngest child of Katharine and Robert Andrews. David was a graduate of Harvard College, class of 1951. After serving in the Army, David made his way to California to visit his sister, Katharine, where he subsequently lived and worked for more than 60 years. In 1956, David married the love of his life, Ellen. He earned an MBA from Stanford Business School in 1958 and began his career as a certified financial analyst in San Francisco. He ended his career in 2000 as a partner in the firm McCullough, Andrews and Cappiello, Inc., an investment counseling firm.

David’s wife of 54 years, Ellen, predeceased him as did his parents and siblings. He is survived by his children: Sara Russell (Paul) and David H. Andrews, Jr. His grandchildren Annette, Gregory and Charlotte will miss him dearly.

David was proud of his work and adored his family. He is remembered for his love of the outdoors—especially tilling in his vegetable garden—his dry sense of humor, and his quiet strength.

Burial will be next to Ellen in Alamo, CA and will take place at a later date. Contributions may be made in David’s memory to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
