Louisville women lose

A.J. Alix made a goahead three-pointer with 1:04 remaining and Nicole Ekhomu added a free throw with 7.8 seconds left, helping No. 12 Florida State hand No. 2 Louisville its first loss of the season, 50-49 Sunday.

The visiting Seminoles (18-2, 6-1 ACC) trailed 22-9 after the first quarter before rallying, taking their first lead at 37-36 in the third quarter. They won despite shooting 28 percent overall.

Arica Carter’s threepoint­er put Louisville (20-1, 6-1) ahead with 1:54 to go. Alix answered from long range, then Ekhomu made the second of two from the line.

Louisville missed one shot and committed two turnovers in the final 30 seconds before Myisha Hines-Allen hit a layup as time expired.

Hines-Allen finished with 13 points. The Cardinals made just 7 of 30 shots after halftime.

#1 UConn 113, Temple 57: Kia Nurse scored 24 points and freshman Megan Walker added 22 for the visiting Huskies (18-0, 7-0 American), who played without Katie Lou Samuelson, who was sidelined by an ankle injury.

#3 Mississipp­i State 71, #6 Tennessee 52: Victoria Vivians had 24 points and nine rebounds as the visiting Bulldogs (20-0, 6-0 SEC) matched their best start in school history. Mississipp­i State also got off to a 20-0 start last season. The Lady Vols (16-3, 4-2) have lost three of their past four, with all four of those games against Top 25 foes.

#5 Notre Dame 90, Clemson 37: Arike Ogunbowale and Jackie Young each scored 23 points for the host Irish (18-2, 6-1 ACC) against the Tigers (11-9, 1-6).

#7 Oregon 75, #18 OSU 63: Satou Sabally scored 21 points to lead four Ducks in double figures as host Oregon (18-3, 7-1), which lost to the Beavers (14-5, 5-3) two nights earlier, took sole possession of the Pac-12 lead. The Ducks, who trailed at halftime Friday, built a 22-point lead at intermissi­on in the rematch. Oregon moved one game ahead of Stanford, which lost to UCLA on Sunday.

#10 South Carolina 81, Kentucky 64: A’ja Wilson, who missed the previous two games with a sprained ankle, scored 26 points to lead the visiting Gamecocks (16-3, 5-2 SEC) past the Wildcats (9-11, 1-5).

#22 ASU 73, Colorado 59: Kianna Ibis scored 24 points and Courtney Ekmark added 16 as the host Sun Devils (14-6, 5-3 Pac-12) beat the Buffaloes (11-8, 2-6).

Washington 56, WSU 49: Hannah Johnson had 13 points and 17 rebounds to lead the host Huskies (7-12, 1-7 Pac-12) past the Cougars (9-11, 2-6).

Utah 80, Arizona 56: Megan Huff scored a game-high 17 points as the visiting Utes (14-5, 5-3 Pac-12) defeated the Wildcats (5-14, 1-7).

MEN

#2 Virginia 59, Wake Forest 49: Kyle Guy scored 17 points and De’Andre Hunter added 16 points as the visiting Cavaliers (18-1, 7-0 ACC) extended their winning streak to 10 games. Bryant Crawford scored 11 points, and Mitchell Wilbekin and Brandon Childress added 10 apiece for the Demon Deacons (8-11, 1-6).

#23 Michigan 62, Rutgers 47: Moe Wagner scored 16 points and Duncan Robinson added 12 for the host Wolverines (17-5, 6-3 Big Ten), who rebounded from a 20-point loss at Nebraska on Thursday. Corey Sanders scored 12 points for the Scarlet Knights (12-9, 2-6).

#25 Miami 86, N.C. State 81: Bruce Brown Jr. scored 19 points and Anthony Lawrence II and Ebuka Izundu each had 15 points for the visiting Hurricanes (14-4, 3-3 ACC). Omer Yurtseven had 28 points for the Wolfpack (13-7, 3-4), who shot 63 percent after halftime and 54 percent for the game.

Utah 82, WSU 69: Tyler Rawson scored 22 points to lead four Utes in double figures as host Utah (12-7, 4-4 Pac-12) beat the Cougars (9-10, 1-6). Malachi Flynn scored 19 points for Washington State.
