Linda was the daughter of Raymond Garland Ford and Kathleen Daphne Dougan and the granddaughter of David Roy and Minnie Lee Ford and Lowry Roe and Ruby Lenora (“Bomber”) Dougan. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri until the allure of California drew her west.

Linda began her career working for the government. She met her future husband James G.B. DeMartini III (Jim), and they were married in 1974. Linda and Jim raised their three sons on the Peninsula in Foster City and then Hillsborough. They were the perfect match as they embraced life together providing a shining example of love and devotion to each other, their children and grandchildren, and anyone who knew them. Linda’s creative talent when combined with her sharp eye for design led to a very successful career as an interior designer with her work published in design magazines. Her passion for genealogy led her to travel the world and organize a local genealogy group in search of the family history. Later in life, Linda became an avid and excellent golfer; she loved the integrity and challenge of the game.

Throughout her life, Linda was heavily involved in charitable organizations and activities. Her influence, care, and compassion reached far into the communities in which she lived and to her extended family, including a close and loving relationship with Jim’s parents who both passed away in 2017. She adored her grandchildren who gave her energy and joy while battling cancer.
