Marva L. McAdoo

Marva Louise McAdoo passed peacefully at home in San Mateo, CA.

Marva Louise Eden was born in Progresso, Honduras. Emigrated to the US in 1953. Marva is survived by three of her four sons, Michael, Herbert, and Joseph Alston, four grandchild­ren, one great-grandchild born in Nov ‘17 and another due in April. She was a member of First Presbyteri­an Church of San Mateo at 25th and Hacienda where she leaves behind an enormous church family.

Marva was the long-time Office Manager for Dr. James L. Hutchinson. She later worked at Stanford University Medical Center, Silicon Graphics, and Earthlink. She retired mid-2000’s and came back to work for Dr. Hutchinson in 2011.

She was a member of several Fraternal organizati­ons (Eastern Stars, Prince Hall Grand High CourtHeroi­nes of Jericho, Stella Rebecca Court, & Robert W. Brown State Grand Council of Assemblies of which she was a founding member).

Marva and her son Herbert had dinner Jan 17th. Her eldest son Michael called to say hello, and the day before she spoke to her youngest, Joseph. Her last words to her son Herbert hours before she passed were “I love you very much.”

The family will celebrate her life Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00am at Skylawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
