Nicholas Triant Prepouses passed away peacefully at home in Danville, California, surrounded by family. He was born in San Francisco to Greek immigrants Vasiliki (Pavlidou) and Triantaphyllos Prepouses. Raised in San Francisco, he graduated from USF and obtained his Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He went on to practice as a CPA in his own firm, faithfully serving his clients in what he called “the golden age of accounting”. He was also a member of the Board of the Nora Eccles Treadwell Foundation for many years. Nick’s work ethic and integrity were complemented by his keen mind and his sense of humor. Devotion to family and a strong belief in the value of education not only shaped Nick’s own life, but have also been a legacy provided to his children and grandchildren. He treasured his Greek heritage and had dear friendships with first cousins Aleko (Fany) Kralios and family, and John Panayotou. He shared a special bond with beloved friends Don and Marion Alexander, who were also travel companions, and that bond came to include their entire family. Nick lived with Parkinson’s disease for many years, facing this challenge with dignity and courage. Our family is forever grateful to the wonderful caregivers who provided meticulous and loving care, especially Sylvia, Aida and Mary K. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Chris (Stephens), he often said that marrying Mary was the best decision of his life. Nick was the son-in-law of Tresevgeni (Kolliopoulos) and Christos Stephens; devoted brother of Pauline (Michael) Delegeane; brother-in-law of Pete (Barbara) Stephens; loving father of Kathryn C. (Jim) Econome, Barbara (Mark) Fridell, and Vicki (Robert) Kiningham; beloved grandfather of Lauren (Ryland) Harris, Christine (Reid) Conklin, Matthew Hanover, Andrea Econome, Luke Beck-Fridell, and Kevin, Heather and William Kiningham; and most recently great-grandfather to Emma Marie Conklin. He was a treasured uncle of Angelo (Maria) Delegeane, Vicki Marie Delegeane, Terry (Donna) Delegeane, Anthony Stephens, and Loukas (Victoria) Stephens.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Trisagion Service at 7 pm on Sunday, February 4th, and the Funeral Service at 11 am on Monday, February 5th, both at the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church, 20104 Center St., Castro Valley. Those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so, to the Resurrection Church in memory of Nicholas Prepouses.
