Try award-winning wines, cocktails at BevMo! booth
evMo!, the leading alcohol retailer on the West Coast, is the presenting sponsor of this year’s competition. There are currently 40 BevMo! stores in the Bay Area, offering everything from wine, spirits and craft beer to specialty foods, cigars, glassware and bar accessories.
BevMo! will be offering tastings of numerous award-winning wines at this year’s event. They will also be serving ready-todrink cocktails from On The Rocks. Stop by their booth to play a game for a chance to win prizes.
BevMo! was established in Walnut Creek during the early-1990s. Over the years, they’ve formed partnerships with renowned vineyards across the country, remaining particularly invested in the wineries of Northern California.
Their close ties with wine suppliers allow them to offer exclusive bottles only available at BevMo!, including unique labels from around the world. They also carry hundreds of exclusive award-winning wines including 83 medal winners from the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
BevMo! is perhaps best known for its 5¢ Wine sale, which is available year-round and culminates in two semiannual events with expanded selection. The first event starts on March 19 and runs through April 8, featuring many new offerings. Shoppers can buy any 5¢ wine bottle and get a second bottle of the same wine for only a nickel.
The intimate customer experience at BevMo! is paramount to their success. Each store has a team of resident “BevMologists” with extensive product knowledge. In addition to offering beverage education, including in-store tastings and classes, BevMo! also employs many industry experts.
Bill Hayes, who has been with the company for more than 20 years and is currently the wine buyer, served as one of this year’s judges. Hayes has traveled to dozens of countries over the years to taste and learn about the world’s many regional varietals and blends.
