“Atomic Homefront,” airing at 8 p.m. on HBO, is an eye-opening documentary about how radioactive waste was illegally dumped from the Manhattan Project in North County, Mo., and how residents are fighting to protect their families from its impact on their lives and health. The Winter Olympics resume on NBC: at noon, freestyle skiing (men’s moguls), ski jumping (women’s individual normal luge; hill), and women’s “The Olympic Zone” airs at 4:30 p.m., and coverage resumes at 5 with alpine skiing (men’s combined), snowboarding (halfpipe) and the women’s 1,500-meter speed skating final. At 9:05, coverage includes alpine skiing (men’s combined; slalom gold medal final run) and snowboarding (men’s halfpipe). TCM continues its Oscars walk-up with a focus on best director winners. “Cabaret ”at5 p.m. will be followed by “Giant” at 7:15, “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” at 10:45 and “The Divine Lady” at 1 a.m. For the nerd in all of us, Acorn TV offers the four “The Joy Of” documentaries for streaming: “The Joy of Data ,”“The Joy of Logic ,”“The Joy of Chance ”and“The Joy of Stats.” Also added to Acorn’s list of available shows are: the second season of “Doctor Finlay,” the third episode of the charmer “Girlfriends,” the third and fourth episodes of the second series of “The Heart Guy,” and episode 8, season 11, of “Murdoch Mysteries.” Go to www.acorn.tv “Christopher and His Kind,” based on Christopher Isherwood’s memoir and starring Matt Smith (“The Crown”) and Douglas Booth (“Great Expectations”) is available today on BritBox.
