PORTLAND, Ore. — Warriors guard Patrick McCaw will miss at least four weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist, a team source has confirmed.

ESPN was first to report the news.

McCaw, who didn’t travel with the team to Portland for Wednesday night’s game against the Trail Blazers, is expected to wear a cast for 10 days. He will be re-evaluated by Golden State doctors March 14, which puts his earliest return for that night against the Lakers — a stretch that would have him missing 10 games.

“It’s definitely worrisome,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Wednesday, roughly an hour before the severity of McCaw’s injury was known.

McCaw has had a tough time building off a surprisingly productive rookie season.

He took a voluntary demotion last week to get extended playing time with Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz. McCaw played two games with the Santa Cruz Warriors. He scored nine points on 4-for-6 shooting in eight minutes of Golden State’s Monday night rout of Phoenix.

He left the game for good late in the second quarter with a sprained right wrist. Before that injury, McCaw had been experiencing some soreness in his left wrist.

“He’s played well; that wasn’t just the one game where the ball went in for him the last game,” Kerr said of McCaw’s performance against the Suns. “It was over the previous few games.”

With McCaw sidelined, Omri Casspi, Andre Iguodala, Nick Young and Shaun Livingston could receive more playing time.
