William T. Van Lieshout, 76, of Lolo, Montana passed away November 17, 2017, in Missoula, Montana, where he had lived for the previous 5 years, doing what he enjoyed most: hunting with his yellow Lab, Sadie. He was interred December 4, 2017, in Pacific View Memorial Park, Newport Beach, California.

Bill was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin, son of Luke and Myrtle Van Lieshout, and brother to Julie (Powell). He developed at an early age a love for all things outdoors, a passion that he would share with all who came to know him throughout his life. He was an avid upland and waterfowl hunter, as well as an accomplished deer and elk hunter. His game dinners were always highly anticipated and his chili was renowned.

After graduating from Quinnipiac University, Bill attended the University of Virginia, where he received his MBA, entered OCS, and ultimately rose to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. In 1968, he accepted a position with Arthur Andersen/Andersen Consulting, and in 1978, Bill was made a Partner. He eventually was promoted to Managing Partner of the Minneapolis, Detroit, San Francisco and New York offices. He retired in 2000, after working for Andersen Consulting/Accenture, for 35 years.

Along his journey he met and married Jessica, his wife of 40 years, raised 3 Labrador retrievers and a Basset hound, ran 7 marathons, and rode his bike 14 tours throughout Europe and New Zealand, where he enjoyed another of his passions: good friends, good food, and good wine.

Bill was active in Ducks Unlimited, an organization to which he donated regularly, and as a retiree, he began a business that manufactures chew toys for dogs, which continues his legacy today.

He is survived by his sister, Julie Powell, brother in law, Robin Powell, his niece, Amy Sukys, his nephews, David and Will Powell, and his many friends throughout Northern California, Aspen, Montana, and La Quinta.
