Otto Ludwig Brenner died suddenly Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at home, with his wife Kathie at his side.

Otto was born August 26th, 1938 in San Francisco. He graduated from Balboa High School, class of 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1961 until being Honorably Discharged in 1967. Otto worked 40 years as a sheet metal worker, retiring in 1998 from Western Plumbing and Heating. He was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Internatio­nal Associatio­n, Local 104, for over 60 years.

Otto enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, playing bocce ball at Albert Park, playing his violin and spending time with family and friends. He treasured his time at his getaway in the hills above Calistoga where he’d cut wood, tinker with his Jeep or tractor, or visit and play cards with family and friends. He was an active member of the SIRS, Branch 22, Club Italia of Marin, and the Nature Friends Tourist Club.

Otto was preceded in death by his parents Sebastian Brenner and Maria Regel of San Francisco (and Halfing, Germany) and his stepfather Hans Regel; he is survived by his wife Kathie, daughters Kristine (Kevin) and Jenelle (Cameron), granddaugh­ters Lauren and Erin, brother Walter Brenner (Annemarie), sister Elizabeth Fink, a nephew and nieces, and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Raphael’s Church, 1104 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael on Friday, March 9th, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the California Waterfowl Associatio­n, the American Heart Associatio­n, or your favorite charity.
