Sheila Joanne Mangini of Lincoln, CA died peacefully at the age of 80 surrounded by her family on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Sutter Hospital in Roseville, CA. Sheila was born on April 24, 1937 in San Francisco, CA the oldest of four daughters to Chester “Ted” and Virginia “Ginny” Bishop. She attended South San Francisco High School and in her early years, she worked for CPS (California Physicians Service) and Converse Shoe Company.

Sheila is preceded in death by her loving husband Adolph “Al” and her stepdaught­er Lori; her sister, Sherry and her mother and father. Sheila is survived by her son Tom (Roxann); daughters Kerri (Craig), Kelli (Chris), Dinny (Ron); stepson Bill; stepdaught­ers Lynn (Mike) and Lola (Mike). Sheila is also survived by her grandchild­ren Ian, Zach, Sam, Ayden and Elise; her sisters Sandra and Farol; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sheila and her family were longtime residents of Foster City, CA. She had an amazing love for her family and was a beloved wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She enjoyed volunteeri­ng at St. Matthew School, Hillsdale High School and Serra High School in San Mateo, CA and Notre Dame High School in Belmont, CA where her children attended. She was a great lover of music, especially rock-n-roll and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Sheila had a deep-rooted love for Hawaiian culture, especially Hawaiian music, which was ingrained throughout her lifetime thanks to her father who played Hawaiian steel guitar and performed Hawaiian songs. She enjoyed numerous trips to Hawaii, and she loved the ocean. Sheila loved to sing and she also loved to dance, especially the California swing and Hula dancing. In her spare time she enjoyed travelling, reading, concerts and watching movies.

Being a mother came first to Sheila and family meant everything to her. She enjoyed camping, ski trips and boating on Lake Oroville where her family had a summer home and where Sheila loved to watch the sunset from the front porch. The summer was always a special time for Sheila as she loved the warm weather and family barbecues. The holidays were another special time, especially Christmas, and Sheila loved to decorate the house, cook and host family gatherings.

In her final days, Sheila cherished her family, friends and her beloved cat, Bella Bianca.

The family is thankful for the tireless support and dedication of her caregivers at home, Eunice Vulaca and Minerva Galaz. The family also wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Sutter Hospital in Roseville, CA for their unending comfort and support showed to the family and Sheila during her final hours.

With her passing, Sheila leaves behind countless wonderful memories and a lasting impact on those whose lives she touched along the way. She will truly be missed.

A Funeral Mass and Burial will take place on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA followed by a luncheon reception at Vizcaya Mansion, 2019 21st Street, Sacramento, CA 95818.
