Gertrude L. Sauer

Passed away peacefully after an age-related illness at the age of 93.

Beloved wife to the late Arthur Sauer. She is survived by three children. Loving mother of Alan (Edie) Sauer, Jon (Sharon) Sauer, and Janet Odom. Proud grandmothe­r to Shanna Sauer, Carrie (Joe) Higby, Amy (Scott) Bliss, Brian (Stephanie) Sauer, Julie (Jay) Martinsen, Jeremiah (Adrianna) Johnson, Eric (Summer) Johnson, Adam Johnson, Elizabeth (Zackery) Chiappello­ne, and Victoria Sauer and twelve greatgrand­children. Also survived by her brother John (Ellie) Baumann

Gertrude was a native of San Francisco and a graduate of Balboa High School. She was employed at the Marine Corporatio­n prior to her marriage on October 10th, 1943 to Arthur Sauer at Bethel Lutheran Church. Art and Gertrude enjoyed serving the Lord and sharing fellowship at Bethel Lutheran Church for many years. Gertrude, also known as “Toots”, was a gentle soul who enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, and caring for her many feline friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at 10:30am and to attend memorial services at 11:00am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City.
