Ryan Welage scored 25 points and Jaycee Hillsman added 24, but their efforts were not enough as San Jose State’s season ended with a 74-61 loss to Wyoming on Wednesday in the first round of the Mountain West Conference tournament in Las Vegas.

Justin James scored 24 points for the Cowboys (20-12).

The Spartans (4-26) trailed by four with 2:19 left in the first half, but Wyoming went on a 17-0 run spanning the first half and second half to take control.
