Raiders shopping list

- — Matt Kawahara

A look at the Raiders’ top three positions of need entering free agency and logical targets to fill each need:

CORNERBACK

Trumaine Johnson: A team captain last season for the Rams, Johnson had two interceptions, 14 breakups and 65 tackles. He had seven interceptions in 2015 — two more than the entire Raiders secondary recorded last season.

Malcolm Butler: He was benched in the Super Bowl, but he played the most defensive snaps of any player for New England last season. He’s 28, and just three years removed from his game-clinching interception in Super Bowl XLIX against the Seahawks.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE

Star Lotulelei: The Raiders passed on Lotulelei in the 2013 draft, taking corner DJ Hayden at No. 12, two picks before the 6-foot-2, 315-pound Lotulelei went to Carolina. The Panthers have expressed an interest in bringing back Lotulelei, who eats up blockers in the middle.

Dontari Poe: The Raiders reportedly were interested in Poe last offseason before the 6-foot-3, 346-pound tackle signed with Atlanta. Poe started 16 games for the Falcons, with 39 tackles and 2.5 sacks, while making a base salary of $8 million.

RUNNING BACK

Doug Martin: If Marshawn Lynch does not return, the Raiders could be in the market for a lead running back. Jon Gruden reportedly met last week with Martin, the 29-year-old Oakland native, who averaged 2.9 yards per carry last season.

Carlos Hyde: If the 49ers do not bring back Hyde — and, again, if Lynch doesn’t return — Hyde could find a home in the East Bay. He’s 27 and coming off a season in which he started all 16 games, rushed for 938 yards and caught 59 passes for 350 yards.
