Giants 6, A’s 5
Notable: The Giants won their sixth consecutive game, batting around and scoring five runs in an inning for the second straight game. A’s starter Jharel Cotton no-hit the Giants over four innings before lefty reliever Ryan Buchter allowed the five runs in the fifth. They scored on Steven Duggar’s two-run homer and Nick Hundley’s three-run double on the first pitch that Liam Hendriks threw after replacing Buchter . ... Duggar’s homer was his fourth of the spring but first off a left-hander. … Stephen Piscotty had a homer and single, the only hits off Chris Stratton in four innings. … Daniel Gossett pitched the final three innings for Oakland and allowed the go-ahead run in the eighth on a Jarrett Parker double that scored Orlando Calixte from first base.
Quotable: “I was talking with (Matt) Chapman as we were walking inside the clubhouse, and he said, ‘Hey Cotton, I like that, good tempo.’ That’s been my focus, having good tempo to keep the guys on their toes and not have to throw too many pitches, and today I did that.” — Cotton, who threw four hitless innings
