Quakes drop 4th in a row to Kansas City
Chris Wondolowski moved into second place on the MLS all-time scoring list, but the visiting Earthquakes lost to Kansas City for the fourth consecutive time, falling 3-2 Saturday night.
Wondolowski capped the scoring in the first minute of stoppage time, moving past Jeff Cunningham on the scoring list with his 135th goal. Landon Donovan holds the record with 145.
Valeri Qazaishvili tied it 1-1 in the 34th minute for San Jose (1-1-0). His header, off a cross from Nick Lima, was blocked but Qazaishvili ripped the rebound into the net.
Graham Zusi, a 31-yearold defender who hadn’t scored since Oct. 23, 2016, scored to give the K.C. a 2-1 lead in the 56th minute. Ilie Sanchez (on a penalty kick) and Felipe Gutierrez also scored for Kansas City (2-1-1).
