-

Our dear Homer passed away on March 6th at his San Francisco home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Louisville KY, he grew up working on his family farm in Mississippi and Tennessee. After completing high school in California, Homer studied Engineering at Mississippi State University, completing his BS at UC Berkeley. Upon graduation, he joined IBM and later went on to form several start-ups in technology related fields, including Fortune Systems and Demand Tech. Homer also served on several corporate boards, including Ants and New Vine Logistics.

Homer, a lifelong conservative, was a champion of education and job training programs, declaring them the major answer to increased prosperity in our rapidly changing global age.

Retiring in 2005, Homer developed many friendships while enjoying a membership in The Pacific Union Club. He also participated regularly in Napa Valley’s Wednesday Lunch Group and The BigDawgs.

Homer Dunn is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Marcia, two children, Roger Dunn and Christie Tierney, and nine grandchildren, Chad and Amy Dunn, Connor, Hayden and Blaine Tierney, and Chandler, Alyssa, Brianna and Delaney Dunn, as well as his extended family, the Kelly Jay’s of Orinda, CA.

Homer Dunn was blessed with a brilliant mind and ability to present controversial viewpoints to others in a factually compelling way. He will be remembered as a kind, caring, and elegant man, always willing to lend a hand to others. He will be profoundly missed.
