Died Monday, February 26, 2018. Born in San Francisco, April 28, 1925, to immigrant parents, Axel and Ida Stenmark. She was baptized, attended Sunday School and was Confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, at the original location, 15th and Dolores St.

She graduated from Polytechni­c High School, attended some classes at Heald’s Business School. Was employed by Dean Witter & Co., where she met and married Robert James Hall. They moved to So. San Francisco where they raised their three sons. As the boys were growing she was a Den Mother, involved in their school activities and supportive to their athletic teams.

She was a Charter Member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. She participat­ed in many programs and events. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years, and served on church council. Was a member of various committees, church treasurer and president of the Woman’s Group.

Over a period of years she had many part-time jobs. One she particular­ly enjoyed was with the San Mateo County Convention Bureau.

After Robert’s untimely death in 1981, at the urging of friends, she continued square dancing, where she met and married Frank B. Hanly. Among things they had in common was the desire to travel. Little did they know it would lead to visiting over 50 countries, 6 continents and all the states.

Ruth was a member of San Bruno AARP. She enjoyed her grandchild­ren, playing bridge, square dancing, gardening and all kinds of puzzles.

Predecease­d by her brother, Roy Stenmark, husband, Frank Hanly and son, Dennis Hall.

Devoted mother of David (Mary Ann), Concord; Richard (Janet), Columbus, OH; and Dennis, Sparks, NV. Loving grandmothe­r of Elissa (Joshua) Sikora, Nicole, Valerie, Robert (Amanda), Lauren, Jason and Jacob Hall. Great grandmothe­r of Owen, Ella, Andrew Sikora and Maxton Hall.

Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 1:00 on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Unity Lutheran Church, 609 Southwood Dr, So. San Francisco.
