Robert H. Lindner

-

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 with his family by his side. Born on July 27, 1939, in Murray, KY to Mary Lois Lindner and August H. Lindner, Bob’s childhood was spent in Washington, D.C. where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1957 and later from American University.

His working years were spent in San Francisco, where Bob had a long career as a professional sound engineer. Over the years, he produced recordings for Bing Crosby, James Earl Jones, Dianne Feinstein, Geraldo Rivera and other well-known personalities. He worked with Tom Bodett to produce the End of the Road Review and regularly recorded the Letter from America for Alistair Cook.

Known for years in the advertising world as one of San Francisco’s top sound editors, Bob cut tape at the old legendary Coast Recorders and other studios, crafting award winning national and regional advertising campaigns featuring some of radio’s most recognized voice talents––Jim Cranna, Jeff Bolt and Michael O’Brien, among others.

Bob was a big fan of bluegrass and also recorded music for two popular Bay Area bluegrass bands, the Earl Brothers and the Done Gone Band.

A great big man with a great big heart, “Bobby” was loved and respected by all who worked with him and will be sorely missed by his many friends on both coasts.

Bob is survived by his sister Annette L. Lowe and brother-in-law Henry J. Lowe of Centreville, VA, nephew R. Bruce Lowe, nieces Melanie Clawson and Stephanie Lowe, four great nieces, four great nephews and numerous cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 11 AM at Centreville United Methodist Church, Centreville, VA. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.
