John “Dink” Morris, Jr.

John “Dink” Morris, resident of Belmont, CA, died on March 12, 2018, surrounded by family. A native of Richmond, CA, Dink was raised in Boulder Creek and Santa Cruz. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1964 and from Cabrillo College in 1966. Dink went on to UC Berkeley, where he completed a B.S. in Accounting and an M.B.A. He met the love of his life, Marie Prahser, at UC Berkeley; they were married in November 1969. The couple settled in Belmont and raised two daughters, Kris and Kim. Dink obtained his CPA and worked in corporate finance in Silicon Valley for over 40 years.

As a family man, Dink imparted to his children his love of the beach, jazz music, dancing, musical theatre and sports. He was an avid autosports fan; wine enthusiast; and 49ers, Giants, and Sharks fan. In recent years, Dink and Marie found many reasons to travel to worldwide destinatio­ns - to New Orleans for jazz festivals; to Monaco and Montreal for car races; to Oregon for the total solar eclipse. Between 2011 and 2013, he welcomed three grandchild­ren, Ivy, Adrian, and Stella; they were the light of his life.

Dink is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie; his daughters Kristin Morris [Henri Berger] of Los Altos, CA; and Kimberly Davis [Alex] of Reno, NV; his grandchild­ren Ivy and Stella Berger-Morris, and Adrian Davis; his sister, Kathleen Marinell of Riverton, WY; and his niece and nephews. He was predecease­d by his mother Rita Morris and his father John Pierce Morris, Sr.

Viewing: Wednesday, March 21st, 5-7pm at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. Private family burial to follow. A celebratio­n of Dink’s life is being planned for July 14, 2018 in Belmont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dink’s name to Cure HHT or Speedway Children’s Charities.
