Andrew Louis Nicolini

Andrew, the elder son of Andrew and Candida Nicolini both from Liguria, Italy, was a native San Franciscan. After graduating from Balboa High School, he joined the Army Air Force where he served for 3 plus years as a mechanic working on B29 bomber aircraft. After discharge Andrew joined his father and brother Fred in the family business, Delano Nursery a premier grower of tropical plants. He continued in partnershi­p with his brother managing Delano Nursery for 50 years.

While serving at Stockton Field he met Enes Gogna who he married after leaving the service. Andrew and Enes were married for almost 72 years celebratin­g both fiftieth and sixtieth anniversar­ies. Together they enjoyed traveling including several visits to family in Italy and meeting family in Chile, ballroom dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife Enes, devoted daughters Janet and Pam (Bill Segale), adored grandchild­ren Jenina and William, brother Fred and niece and nephew Doreen Peluffo and John Nicolini. He was predecease­d by his parents.

Andrew was known to all as being a good friend always willing to lend a hand especially if something needed repair. Andrew always improved whatever he repaired or modified so it was better than original. He excelled at making Zinfandel wine and salami.

On Monday March 19th visitation will start at 5pm followed by a rosary at 7pm at the Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, South San Francisco. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday March 20th at 10am at Mater Dolorosa Church, 307 Willow Avenue, South San Francisco. Committal at Italian Cemetery.
