Cecilia Rose Enright

-

Cecilia Rose Enright Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at home. A San Francisco native, she was born December 13, 1926, to Italian immigrant parents Enrichetta and Annibale “Jack” Tollini. Her little brother, Federico (Fr. Fred Tollini, SJ) came along 8 years later.

Cecilia (Cee) graduated from Notre Dame des Victoires Grammar and High Schools, and attended UC Berkeley. She graduated from San Francisco State with a teaching credential, however, she remained a Cal Bears fan for life. She taught at Old St. Mary’s Holy Family Chinese Mission School in Chinatown. She also studied and taught piano for many years.

She married Robert (Bob) Joseph Enright on June 18, 1948, whom she had met at a YLI dance. While dancing, he asked her “Do you dip?” She said “No.” He dipped her anyway, fell down on top of her, and so they had no choice but to get married. Bob and Cee began a family, and took up residence in the Westlake neighborhood of Daly City in August 1951, where they raised their five kids.

Cee was an active volunteer and supporter of many charitable causes. She was a Past President of Little Children’s Aid and a member of Westlake Catholic Women, Auxiliary of Little Sisters of the Poor, Ignatian Guild, Loyala Guild, and Friends of the Daly City Library. Bob and Cee were also founding members of Our Lady of Mercy Parish.

She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Robert; her brother Fred, her children Kathleen (Henry), Jack (Anne), Richard, Robert (Erin), and Mary (Jack); grandchildren Danny, Lisa, Joseph, Michael, Elaine, Robbie, and Johnny; great grandchildren Michael, Kaitlyn, and Colin; Aunt Angelina; many Enright nieces and nephews; Fioretti and Rossoni cousins; and the Westlake gang.

The family thanks Cee’s caregivers, especially Eunice Grubbs and Gabrielle Hill, and everyone at Kaiser Hospice.
