Richard (Rich) David Barsi

-

Richard (Rich) David Barsi was the son of Nello and Rose Barsi and sister Jeanne Noftsger and brotherin-law of Dick Noftsger (all deceased). He leaves behind numerous relatives. Rich was born in South San Francisco in 1941 and lived there happily until his very last day. He attended All Souls School, Serra High School and College of San Mateo. After college, Rich worked at Galli’s Sanitary Bakery, the SF Examiner, James Allen Meat Packing Company and the South San Francisco School District, where he retired as a gardener. He also worked part-time for many years at D& M Liq our and Stangelini’s Market. For the past 9 years, he enjoyed being a volunteer in the gift shop at Peninsula Hospital.

Rich was an avid fan of UC Berkeley sports and attended all the home football games with friends for over 40 years. For many years Rich coached youth basketball and softball teams for All Souls, Holy Angels, Charles Armstrong Schools and the SSF Police Athletic League. Although his coaching days were over, he could still be found watching family and friends’ children playing sports of all kinds.

Rich was an all around “good” guy, who always stopped to chat with everyone. He loved to tell you a joke and hoped he made you smile. Rich loved his dog, Paco, who sadly passed away three weeks prior to Rich’s passing.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Vigil service, Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, South San Francisco and a Funeral Mass at All Souls Church, corner of Miller and Walnut Avenues on Friday April 13th at 10 a.m.
