Marian Ellen Connelly

Marian Connelly, age 56, passed away peacefully at home in Belmont, CA surrounded by her family. She is now reunited with her father Redmond Mulkerrins. Marian will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Edward, loving daughter Sheila, mother Sally Mulkerrins, brothers, Richard (Lucy), John (Joan), Michael (Colleen) Mulkerrins, her special nieces and nephews: Casey, Matthew, Michaela, Megan, Michael, Rhea and Colin, Aunt Teresa, Aunt Winnie, Uncle Henry, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts in America, Ireland and Australia. Marian dedicated her life to education, spending countless hours at St. Cecilia School, first as a student, then volunteer, student teacher, and coordinator of the Confirmation Program, Teacher of Grade 6, Room 22 for 29 years, and finally, as Principal for the last 6 years. She was an avid supporter of the Irish community, dancing into her adult years with the Healy School of Irish Dance, and then becoming a “feis mom” for her daughter. She loved walking the hills of Belmont with her neighbors, traveling to Ireland often with her husband and daughter, and hosting her friends and family at her house for holidays. Auntie Mar was passionate about supporting her nieces and nephews at school, athletics, and fine art performances. In the St. Cecilia spirit, Marian was truly “The Finest, The Greatest and The Best.”

Services will be held at St. Cecilia Church, 660 Vicente St, SF. Visitation on Sunday, April 15, starting at 4pm, Vigil Service at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 16 at 11am with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
