Veronica “Von” Catherine Mironoff (nee Boyle)

Passed away peacefully in San Francisco on April 22, 2018. Von was born on November 14, 1921 in Mabou, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia to the late Duncan Boyle and Catherine Boyle (nee Campbell). She was predecease­d by her husband, Dr. Eugene Mironoff. She was the adored sister of the late John Boyle and Angus (Gerard) Boyle; the cherished Aunt of Catherine Kelly (nee Boyle) and Gerard Boyle; and loving Godmother to Catherine.

Von attended high school at St. Joseph’s Convent in Mabou and then went on to graduate as a registered nurse from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Her nursing career, spanning more than fifty years, began in Nova Scotia. She served in a variety of medical roles and locations, including Toronto, Boston and San Francisco.

Von met her husband in Boston, and they eventually settled in San Francisco where she was instrument­al in building their thriving medical practice. She managed the office and was loved by all the patients she cared for. Her caring and compassion­ate nature was evident to all those that she touched. She had a keen interest in current events and politics and traveled the world extensivel­y. Von exuded elegance - always the epitome of a lady. She was kind, loving and wise; a woman of conviction with a very strong faith.

The family would like to thank Natalie Musihin for her kindness and dedication in coordinati­ng Von’s care. Also a special thanks to Dr. Christophe­r G. Cooney for his extraordin­ary care over the last three years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church located at 2390 Bush St, San Francisco, CA. A private committal will be held at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Mabou, Nova Scotia.
