Marie F. Conroy-Salbi

1942-2018

-

Born in San Francisco on August 10th, 1942, Marie passed away in her home on March 30th, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Faisal Salbi. The daughter of Irish immigrants, Michael and Sally Conroy, Marie was a proud San Franciscan from the Richmond District. She was a graduate of the Star of the Sea Grammar School (1956), Star of the Sea Academy (1960), and USF. Marie was a long time member of the United Irish Cultural Center and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. After retiring from SFGH, she touched the lives of many by volunteering at Lafayette School, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, learning sign language to help out at St. Benedict Parish, and being an Associate of the C.S.J. order. Marie actively participated with the alumni of both Star of the Sea Academy and USF, was involved in many community organizations, and was a member of the Commission on Aging Advisory Council. She was always there for others to listen and give advice - a people person, who loved socializing and connecting with others wherever she went. She always arrived with a little bag of goodies, or a newspaper article of interest, and remembered birthdays and special anniversaries. Marie was a very special person, thoughtful, caring, loved by many and, she will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 30th, at 11:00am, St. Thomas the Apostle, 3835 Balboa St., San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, 11999 Chalon Rd. Los Angeles, CA 90049 are requested.
