Broncos tailback hurt in crash

Denver Broncos running back De’Angelo Henderson is recovering from minor shoulder and ankle injuries he sustained over the weekend when his Jeep was hit by a driver fleeing police in a stolen vehicle.

KCNC-TV in Denver reported that a 36-year-old woman was in custody after she allegedly struck several vehicles while evading police Saturday night in Parker, Colo., sending four people to the hospital.

⏩ The Raiders signed two rookie free agents, Utah State safety Dallin Leavitt and Kansas State long snapper Drew Scott.

Leavitt had a 211 tackles and seven intercepti­ons in a college career that started at BYU. Scott was Kansas State’s primary long snapper for the final 26 games of his career.

⏩ The 49ers signed sixth-round safety Marcell Harris to a fouryear deal. He played in 37 games in five years at Florida and registered 102 tackles.

⏩ Salt Lake City is the fourth franchise location for the Alliance of American Football. The startup league has announced Orlando, Atlanta and Memphis for other team locales. The Alliance will feature eight teams playing a 10-week regular season beginning Feb. 9, 2019 — the weekend after the Super Bowl — on CBS.

Jurisprude­nce: Craig Carter, a former University of Arizona assistant track and field coach convicted of assaulting a female student-athlete in 2015, has been sentenced to five years in prison.
