Albert Howard Hall

May 20, 1953 - December 10, 2017

Albert Howard Hall (Howard Hall), Bay Area native, passed away on Sunday December 10, 2017 at 64 years of age. He was a beloved father, son, brother and husband. He is survived by his daughter, Ahjalia Haley Hall, his sister, Robin Hall Mackey, and his wife Judy Hall. He leaves behind many loving family members and friends whom he loved like family. Howard was born in 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky, but grew up in Berkeley and then El Cerrito, California.

He attended Columbus and Kensington Hilltop Elementary Schools and Portola Junior High. He graduated from El Cerrito High in 1971 where he excelled in football and baseball and was the senior class president. He attended UC Berkeley and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University. He worked as a civil engineer for the city of Oakland for over 20 years before retiring at the age of 50.

He was a member of The Agape International Spiritual Center and always worked to better know himself and others through spirit. He was known for his loving spirit, helpful ways, peaceful nature and kind heart. He loved to watch baseball, especially the SF Giants. He also loved to read, play chess, tell jokes, jog around Lake Merritt, run the Bay to Breakers race, enjoy holidays with family, visit his daughter in Los Angeles, take trips to Hawaii and Yosemite and most importantly, he loved good conversation with people he loved and cared about. His non-judgmental heart and kind spirit will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to attend his celebration of life on Saturday June 9, 2018 at Tilden Park’s Brazilian Room (Wildcat Canyon Road at Shasta Road, Berkeley, CA). A memorial service will take place from 11-12PM followed by a celebration of life reception from 12-2:00PM. Casual attire and warm hearts are welcome. Memorial donations may be made in Howard’s name to Agape International Spiritual Center 5700 Buckingham Parkway, Culver City, CA 90232.
