Raiders sign tackle Miller, their top pick

-

The Raiders announced Friday they have signed firstround draft pick Kolton Miller, an offensive tackle from UCLA.

The team selected the 6foot- 9, 315- pound Miller — a native of Roseville — with the 15th overall pick in last month’s draft. The Raiders originally had the No. 10 pick in the draft, but swapped selections with Arizona.

In the statement, the Raiders offered no terms of the contract, but last year’s No. 15 pick — Malik Hooker, a safety — agreed to a four- year, $ 12.599 million deal with the Colts.

Spotrac. com, which monitors the contract terms of the four major pro sports leagues in the country, projected that this year’s No. 15 selection would receive a $ 13.583 million four- year deal.

Miller played both right and left tackle in college. He started 13 games on the left side in 2017 and was named second- team All- Pac 12.

Trade to be made: The Browns have agreed to trade cornerback Jamar Taylor to the Cardinals, two people with knowledge of the situation said. Cleveland reportedly will get a 2020 sixth- round draft pick in the deal.

The trade would help fill a significant need for the Cardinals — a cornerback to play opposite Patrick Peterson. The impending deal was first reported by NFL. com’s Ian Rappaport.

Taylor, 27, played the past two seasons with the Browns, for whom he had three interceptions and 23 passes defensed in 31 games.

Taylor played his first three NFL seasons with Miami after being drafted in the second round out of Boise State. He was acquired by Cleveland in a draft- day trade in 2016. Gregory wants back in: Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory reportedly is seeking reinstatement to the NFL after missing the 2017 season over multiple violations of the league’s substance- abuse policy.

Gregory, 25, last played in the 2016 regular- season finale, when the former Nebraska standout had his first career sack at the end of his second season. He was suspended before Dallas’ playoff loss, his third suspension of the season.
