Ex-Maryland player is killed

Former Maryland basketball player Cliff Tucker has been killed in a West Texas van accident that left two other passengers dead. Tucker, 29, played four years at Maryland, finishing in 2011. ⏩ UCLA guard Kris Wilkes will skip next month’s NBA draft and return to school for his sophomore season.

⏩ Jenna Brown, who will enter Stanford this fall, has been named to the USA Basketball Under-18 national team that will compete in the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championsh­ip in August.

NBA: The Philadelph­ia 76ers and head coach Brett Brown have agreed to a three-year contract extension that runs through 2021-2022.

WNBA: Angel McCoughtry’s thre-pointer with 1.5 seconds left lifted the host Atlanta Dream (2-2) to a 76-74 win over the Minnesota Lynx (2-3). ... Tina Charles’ 34 points and 10 rebounds led the New York Liberty (1-2) to a 94-89 win over the visiting Dallas Wings (2-3) . ... Jewell Loyd scored 27 points and Breanna Stewart added 25 for host Seattle (4-1) in the Storm’s 81-77 win over Washington Mystics (4-1).

NFL: Wide receiver Brandon Marshall has indicated on social media that he’s joining the Seattle Seahawks.

College football: Kentucky dismissed safety Marcus Walker after his arrest on charges of traffickin­g cocaine and marijuana.

Rowing: Cal men’s associate head coach Scott Frandsen will succeed Mike Teti as head coach, the school announced. Teti takes over head-coaching duties for the U.S. men’s national team in June.

College golf: Cal’s Collin Morikawa was named firstteam All-American for the second consecutiv­e year. USC’s Justin Suh and UNLV’s Shintaro Ban, both from San Jose, also made the first team.
