Dan McInerney passed into Eternal Life on May, 25, 2018 at the age of 95 at the Forum at Rancho San Antonio, Cupertino, California.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Miranda; his three children, Celeste, Charles and Susan; and Susan’s husband David. He was preceded in death by his daughter Marianne.

Dan has five grandchild­ren, Kiko, Nicolas and Celeste Molina and Brian and Sean Emery. He also has eight great grandchild­ren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins here and in County Claire, Ireland.

Dan was born in the Eureka Valley of San Francisco. He spent ten years at St. Joseph/St. Patrick Seminary and a few years in the U. S. Army before working as a real estate agent for the California State Highways and the Santa Clara Valley Transporta­tion Agency.

He was very active in bringing the County workers into the Service Employees Internatio­nal Union, all the while being active in his parish Catholic affairs, especially with the liberating freshness of Vatican II.

In 1953 Dan married Helen Mousis, the mother of his four children. She died in 1982. In 1983 Dan married Anna Hanna, who passed away in 1992. In 1995, Dan and Miranda married, and in 2005 moved to the Forum where they spent an enjoyable and busy time with their fellow residents under the care of wonderful workers who made life at the Forum so pleasant.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, 1:30 PM, at St. Simon Catholic Church, 1860 Grant Road, Los Altos, California 94024.
