Kevin Joseph Kennedy of Moraga, CA, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes over the weekend of June 1st. His death leaves a tremendous emptiness for his family and his friends. Kevin was born and grew up in Orinda. He graduated from Miramonte High School (‘96) and the University of Oregon (‘01). He had spent his entire 17 year professional career at Pineapple Capital as a portfolio manager and he excelled in analyzing global entertainment and gaming companies. His early work on Nintendo was outstanding and he greatly enjoyed his annual treks to Kyoto. Kevin loved Hawaii, hiking, nice hotels, and most of all movies where he could discuss the various merits or lack thereof for hours. He relished a good debate on the subject and watching movies will never be the same. Kevin was passionate about his friends and he remained deeply loyal and non-judgmental. He listened closely and had heartfelt recommendations for all. Kevin brought abundant joy to his family with his embracing of a changing world and yet he was a complete traditionalist. He liked revisiting his childhood pastimes and was always ready with a quick story. Forever searching for the perfect pair of sunglasses, Kevin loved Italy and the time he spent there. He was easy to birthday shop for – either a gift card at Salvatore Ferragamo’s, an impossible Lego product or just a new Garfield book.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Diana, and his father, Don, his sister, Eileen, and his niece, Eva, as well as his long-time girlfriend Lisa Wynn and her daughter Dynastii Noel-Wynn.

Services will be held at the Church of Santa Maria in Orinda, CA on Friday, June 29th, at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA and a reception will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin’s name to the East Bay Regional Parks Foundation (EBParks.org) to support hiking trails.
