Paula Gail Tarr, 61, of Daly City, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Paula was born in Stamford, Connecticu­t, daughter of Betty (Sklar) and the late Sidney Tarr. She graduated from Stamford High School and Central Connecticu­t State College. After college, she moved to San Francisco, where she completed postgradua­te study to become an ESL teacher. In 1990, she moved to Barcelona, where she taught English as a foreign language for five years and traveled in Spain and France. When she returned to the U.S, she began working for the University of California, San Francisco. For ten years, she also volunteere­d for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation as an AIDS Hotline Counselor. Paula retired from the University of California earlier this year. She will be missed by many close friends and colleagues in San Francisco as well those in Europe. Along with her mother, Paula is survived by her sister, Lisa Tucker and her husband Mark of New Britain, CT, her sister-in-law Pamela Tarr of Charlotte, North Carolina, nephews Richard, Adam, Daniel and Greg and her niece Jacqueline. Paula is also survived by her Aunt and Uncle William and Shirley Sklar, Aunt Fran Tarr and her cousin, Linda Chafetz. She was predecease­d by her brother Robert Tarr and her Uncle Morton Tarr.

A Memorial Service for Paula in San Francisco will be on Friday, June 22, at 2 PM, at the Sinai Memorial Chapel, 1501 Divisadero Street. Services in Connecticu­t will be at the convenienc­e of the family.
