Stuart C. Gallion lost his 1 ½ year fight with cancer on June 7, 2018. He was born May 27, 1952 in San Jose, California to Robert and Margarett (Donavan) Gallion. He lived the first 14 years of his life in California before moving with his family to Washington State. He graduated from Selah High School in 1970 and graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He started work as an accountant with Potlatch Corporation and was later transferred to San Francisco to manage their recreational lands.

He worked as an accountant with various Bay Area firms before marrying Betsy Minden in 1988 and moving to Seattle. When the marriage broke up, he moved back to San Francisco and starting work with Stanford Hotels. Just as he was contemplating retirement, he contracted the cancer that eventually took his life.

Stuart is survived by his brothers Jim (Sue) Danner, Steve (Naomi) Danner and Rob Gallion as well as numerous nieces, grandnieces and a nephew. Stuart would like to thank his cousins who reached out to him during his illness especially his cousin Maeve who helped set up his caretakers. The Honor caretakers were very helpful, especially his favorite, Andrew Samuel.

At his request, no services will be held. His body was donated to the UCSF Willed Body Program for medical research. Memorials may be made to the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund.
